in its separate sciences, or departments such as physics,
astrophysics, astronomy, geophysics, meteorology, geology,
paleontology, chemistry paleontology, metallurgy, biology, anatomy,
physiology, botany medicine, agriculture, archeology, paleontology,
and others all deal with the material universe, and our home, planet
earth. All the scientists are welcomed indeed. It is important that
we relate scientific discovery to our socioeconomic philosophy here
on earth, and/or how it benefits mankind. The study of material
existence, by you who live and work in the fields above, may become
our most precious philosophers. |

MATERIAL
REALITY
The physical sciences are metaphysical, that is perhaps the most
important aspect of our existence without which nothing follows. Even
our consciousness depends on our physical organic being and brain.
Our body, brain and consciousness owe its existence to the material
universe. How we care for our bodies to support our consciousness and
action, is philosophical, and within the science of Metaphysics.
Metaphysics has been named after those things which relates to
existence, physics or beyond, relating to nature, physically. It is
the term first used for that part of Aristotle's writings when he
established the science of nature, or that which is natural that was
termed 'the first philosophy.' Material existence is what comes first
in the reality of our existence. Metaphysics cannot mean its
opposite, non-material, immaterial or the spiritual. Many have stolen
this word for out of reality psyche connections with the spiritual or
souls. Such impossible unreal imaginations are dishonest, and to call
themselves metaphysicians is another incident of Rand's, 'a stolen concept.'
The environment was dealt with in "The Philosophy of Morals
& Values" and to continue with the spirit of that account it
is ventured that we will change the entire face of this earth. The
idea that we may preserve the earth in its present state is
cosmically naive and extremely short sighted given the accelerated
birth rate that is being encouraged by the religiously, and
socialistically motivated. The philosophical approach will be shown
as accepting change with emphasis on how we can deal with evolution
of we humans, the earth, that which may benefit mankind socio-economically
today, and in the foreseeable future.
In nature we may wonder in awe at the nature of biology and botany
evolving out of inert material, creating animated and/or live carbon
based brain units that are conscious of reality. We know little of
the physical brain or how memory is stored or as one writer proposed
we have no memory and that we may re-imagine everything all over
again when our senses experiences the same thing or occurrence. That
concept is theory. We continue the search for empirical facts.
We can write about all the things that are created out of this
material universe. The scientist, physicians, microbiologists,
chemists, botanists and those doctors who take care of us are
metaphysical. Those who look into our past, as in Paleontology, is
the science investigating forms of life existing in former geologic
periods as represented by their fossils. There are the sciences of
our personal experiences, the food we eat, the vegetation, diet, and
the environment that we must change to meet human needs. We have
cloning issues, invetro fertilization, stem cell research, and
striping the forests to feed an overgrowing population. The subjects
to write about and their issues of our species to adapt are endless,
and new technological progress will occupy us as well.
We have much to discus, much to research and much to agree or
disagree about. The subject or subjects you really care about, and
those you like because of the challenge they present, becomes the
writers struggle to understand, to make clear and empirically
correct, is being a credible human being. However, just be sure of
yourself, become a person who will stand up to be counted, and be a
morally selfish individual. |

Discoveries and experimental
sciences are needed so that we may survive the exigencies of this
evolving universe, galaxy (the Milky Way), and our solar system. The
Problem! How do we live with change? It may be a pragmatic problem
for our lifetime, but it behooves us to have some long range
foresight for our descendents. We are recreating earth, it is the
foundation for our future and our children's future and all that
follows, our survival depends on our materialism, and
philosophically, it is called the the science metaphysics.
Metaphysics is the science of
the entire physical cosmos and every material thing we have created
out of what is real, or that is made of atoms. From all of the inert
material in the universe we were biologically created out of it all
in nature, by the nature's laws and the phenomena of natural
processes of evolution as time marches on unopposed. |
